Join U.S. Senator Al Franken for Coffee with Congress.
When Congress returns to work in September it will be facing some big tasks. The 2018 federal budget needs to be adopted. The debt ceiling needs to be raised. “Next steps” on health care will be sorted out. Plus, Congressional majority leaders and the White House want to act on comprehensive tax reform.
Minnesota Senator Al Franken wants to know what you’re thinking about these upcoming legislative deliberations and other issues of interest to Minnesota nonprofit leaders and grantmakers. You can share your ideas and present your questions to the Senator at Coffee with Congress.
First elected to the Senate in 2008, and re-elected in 2014, Al Franken currently sits on the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee; the Judiciary Committee; the Energy and Natural Resources Committee, and the Committee on Indian Affairs.

The 2017 Coffee with Congress series is co-hosted by the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits and the Minnesota Council on Foundations, and sponsored by Greater Twin Cities United Way and United Ways of Minnesota. The Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation is a special host for this event. This is our fifth year presenting Coffee with Congress events throughout the state; bringing nonprofit leaders and grantmakers into direct conversations with the people who serve them in Congress.
